Manage Tag Relationships for Assets

On the Semantic Enrichment tab of the asset details page, you can add, edit, or remove tags.

Prerequisites

To manage tag relationships for assets, you must have a global role that grants you the following privileges:
  • Data Warehouse General (-R------) - To access SAP Datasphere.

  • Catalog Asset (–RU––-M) - To edit an asset's name and short and long descriptions and add term, KPI, and tag relationships on the asset details page.

  • Catalog Tag Hierarchy (CRUD–--) - To add, edit, and delete tag hierarchies and tags.

To use SAP Business AI features for enriching catalog assets, it must be enabled in your tenant (see Enable SAP Business AI for SAP Datasphere) and you must also have a global role that grants you the following privilege:
  • Data Warehouse AI Consumption (–--–E--) - To use SAP Business AI features.

A combination of the Catalog Administrator global role, the DW AI consumer global role, and the DW Viewer role template (used directly as a global role) applied together, for example, grant these privileges. For more information, see Privileges and Permissions and Standard Roles Delivered with SAP Datasphere.

Also, the option to expose the tag hierarchy for AI-generated content must be selected when the tag hierarchy is created (or edited).

Context

Add tags to your assets. When you're done, you'll be able to search for all the assets that contain that tag. You can add multiple tags from one or more hierarchies. However, if your hierarchy disabled the Multiselect value, then you can add one tag from that hierarchy only.

After the tags have been added to an asset, you can edit the tag (for example, change the tag color or name and description), or remove the tag from the asset. Removing the tag from the asset doesn't delete the tag from the hierarchy. You can edit or delete a tag by accessing the catalog in the same system that was used when it was created. For example, if you access the catalog from the SAP Business Data Cloud cockpit system to create a tag, you must access the catalog in the same system to edit or delete it.

Adding, Editing, or Removing Tags for Assets

  4. Choose one of the options depending on whether there are existing tag relationships.

    • If there are tag relationships, and you want to edit or remove tags, select the Manage button.

  5. In the Hierarchy list, expand the hierarchy that contains the tags that you want to assign and select the tags.
If you need help, select the Generate button to use the SAP Business AI feature, which goes through existing tag hierarchies that have been exposed for AI-generated content and assigns the most relevant tags. Tag relationships are added, not removed. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. Verify results before use.
  6. When you're done, save your changes.

Results

The list is updated with the tags you assigned. To remove a tag, select the (Delete) button for the row.
