Quantity Update of Total Quantity A waste approval stipulates the maximum quantity of waste belonging to a certain
waste code
that can be generated and disposed of over a specified time period. The
Quantity Update of Total Quantity
function ensures that this licensed waste quantity is not overwritten and that a new waste approval is applied for in time. You can also use the
Period-Based Quantity Update
to monitor waste quantities for any time period that is within the validity of the waste approval.
You have created and released the waste approval with the corresponding data (waste code, licensed quantity, and validity period).
The waste quantity disposed of is automatically updated in the
Qty Disp.
field in the waste approval for the waste code assigned when you enter a waste quantity for a
disposal document
to which the waste approval and waste code have been assigned.
Note
When you create a waste item in the disposal document, the system determines the waste code for the quantity update for total quantities and for the period-based quantity update based on your entries in the
Sort Sequence and Default Setting for Waste Code
field. The waste code that has the smallest number in the sort sequence on the waste approval is considered to be relevant for update in the item.
You can override the way in which the system determines this using the
Waste Code Relevant to Quantity Update
indicator on the
Waste Code
tab page in the disposal document. You can then select specifically which waste code is used for quantity updates.
If you remove the
Waste Code Relevant to Quantity Update
indicator and do not select another valid waste code, the decision is controlled by the
Sort Sequence and Default Setting for Waste Code
field.
The system also establishes the difference between the waste quantity that was licensed in the waste approval for the waste code and the waste quantity disposed of, and notifies you of this licensed remaining quantity. This ensures that you can apply for a new waste approval in time.
Note
If you have not activated the period-based quantity update, the system notifies you of the remaining quantity for the time-period entry.
You can enter the following waste quantities for the disposal document:
Waste quantity that was determined by the waste generator, for example, by weighing the waste when it left the plant (
Outgoing quantity
)
Waste quantity that was disposed of and confirmed by the waste disposer (
Quantity disposed of
)
The
Quantity disposed of
in the disposal document is used for the quantity update of the total quantity and for the period-based quantity update. The
outgoing quantity
is only used as long as no
quantity disposed of
has been entered. As soon as a
quantity disposed of
that differs from the
outgoing quantity
has been entered, the system corrects the waste quantity disposed of in the waste approval by the amount of the difference.
If the waste quantity disposed of for a waste code would exceed the licensed waste quantity, the waste quantity disposed of is not updated in the waste approval. (The system response for the period-based quantity update depends on the tolerance that you select.) You cannot then save the quantity you entered for the disposal document, and a corresponding message is displayed. You can only save the quantity you entered if you assign a different waste approval to the disposal document or if you reduce the quantity you entered accordingly. This ensures that the waste quantity that was licensed for the waste code in the waste approval is not exceeded.
If you cancel or delete a disposal document to which a waste approval, a waste code, and a waste quantity have been assigned, the waste quantity specified in this disposal document is automatically deducted from the waste quantity disposed of in the waste approval.
