Fraud Detection Service

This guide provides an overview of the key functionalities of the Fraud Detection Service (FDS) and how it assists in detecting potential fraud in self-checkout and self-scanning processes.

Main Processes

The Fraud Detection Service is normally configured via the Storemanager Server. However, it may also be necessary to completely override the Fraud Detection Service for short periods of time to reduce or prevent queues at the stationary POS and SCO. The employee can do this by disabling the fraud detection for a certain amount of time:

  • Launch the Fraud Detection function in the Employee App
  • Select the time period that the Fraud Detection Service configuration should be overridden for
  • Disable fraud detection by pressing the "Disable" button

Afterwards, a timer shows how long this configuration change will be applied. When the timer reaches zero, the currently configured profile becomes active again. The timer can be canceled early by pressing the "Stop disabling" button.
