Overview

This document describes the Self Scanning product of the GK/Retail Business Suite.

The Self Scanning Client enables a customer to scan and enter items unaided by a cashier while wandering through the store and finish their shopping trip on their own. The customers always know the value of their current virtual shopping basket, which saves time during checkout, and they can access images/pictures of the products. The Self Scanning Client from GK Software helps employees in retail businesses to cater for customer needs more extensively. The Self Scanning Client increases customer throughput.

The Self Scanning Client has a simple interface, where the customer has access to a well-structured virtual shopping basket, which lists all the items (with a picture) from the real shopping basket in an easy to grasp way and calculates the final price at all times. As a final step, the customers have the option to pay for their shopping basket by transferring the virtual shopping basket to the Pay Tower Self Checkout in the store, where the payments can be handled.
