Installation

Note:
Before installation is started, please verify that a till assignment exists for a user or workstation.

For installation of a new One X Client, you have to use the function Installation > One X Client > Installation & Update.

Installation is only possible for the most recently released version of the One X Client. The current version for installation can be found in Basic Settings.

Note:
Installation of a new One X Client is only possible if no structure element exists for it in Storemanager.

If the workstation ID already exists, you have the option to reinstall the One X Client.

The function has 4 different steps:

  • Basic Settings
  • Variants (this step is only available if variants exist)
  • Expert Settings (optional)
  • Download

Basic Settings

After starting the function, you must enter or select some required information in the Basic Settings:

OneX - Install New System

Field Description
Store (number) to which the One X Client is assigned (you can select the store from a list or you can also enter the store ID directly).
System name that should be used in Storemanager. A predefined name that can be used is displayed. Note that you should change the name if more than one One X Client is used in one store in order to distinguish between the clients in Storemanager. The system name must be unique. It is possible to use a maximum of 128 characters.
Platform (Windows or Linux) - If the launchers for both Linux and Windows were uploaded to DSG, then the combobox shows both values for selection. Otherwise, the platform for which the launcher was uploaded is preselected.
Workstation ID of the One X Client. This has to be unique within a store and is checked by the function. You will see a message if it already exists and you will be taken to the next step.
Drawer Select the drawer that you want to assign to the One X Client.
POS Type Select the POS system type that should be used for the new POS in Storemanager.
Integration Store Hub Service Select this option when the Store Hub Service should be used.
URL Enter the URL for the Store Hub Service if you selected the option above.
Integration Resource Cache Service Select this option when the Resource Cache Service should be used.
URL Enter the URL for the Resource Cache Service if you selected the option above. The URL is filled automatically if a Resource Cache Service already exists in the store.
Note:
The entered workstation ID must never be changed afterwards in Storemanager. It is firmly connected to the installed One X Client.

There is a check as to whether the database pump of the store already exists on SDC. If so, the installation can continue. Otherwise, a message will be shown indicating that installation is not possible, and that the database pump must be performed for the store beforehand.

Press the Expert Settings button to maintain further expert settings.

Expert Settings

In the Expert Settings step, you can optionally maintain special settings for Flow Service:

Port Stationary Main Client Change the Flow Service Stationary Port if you want to use another than the preconfigured one.
Mobile POS Client Connection to OneX App Select this checkbox to enable the connection of Mobile POS Client to OneX. After selection the following settings have to be made:
Port Mobile Clients Enter the Flow Service port

Download

In the Download step, the generated installation key is then shown.

  • Press Copy to Clipboard to copy the key for later usage. It is needed to generate individual station settings during installation.
    Note:
If you do not continue the One X Client installation directly after system creation or you have to use your clipboard for other Copy&Paste procedures in between, please copy the key to an editor in order to use it later. It cannot be created again.

If you forgot to copy the key, lose the key, or you cancel the function at this point, you have to start the complete installation again from the beginning. As the node has already been created in Storemanager, you have to delete it manually before you can start the installation of a system with the same workstation ID again.

  • Press Download to save the launcher tool to your PC.
  • It is possible to have the download configuration executed in the background by pressing the Background button in the progress dialog.
  • Once the download preparation has finished, the download will start automatically. Depending on your browser settings, you can select the destination directory or the launcher will be downloaded to a configured directory.
  • Once the download has finished, the App can be closed with the Finish button.
