Procedure documentationUsing HR_EIC to Destroy Data about EIC Activities (PA-EIC)

You can use the archiving object HR: EIC Activities (HR_EIC) to destroy data on activities in the Employee Interaction Center (EIC). This applies to completed activities; this means closed or completed requests and associated data such as notes or contact data. Follow-on activities, data on service level agreements (SLA), attachments, process data, and workflow data that is no longer relevant for current business processes.

To gain a complete overview of the relevant database tables from which the archiving object destroys data, choose DB Tables in Archive Administration (transaction SARA).

The archiving object HR_EIC supports the SAP NetWeaver Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) function for the destruction of data. In the Information Retention Manager (IRM), you specify the rules for retaining activities. When running the write program of the archiving object, the system performs checks to evaluate these rules and determines which of the selected data can be destroyed. The data is temporarily written to an archive file. After the write phase, the associated delete program deletes the data from the database and the archive.

Note Note

The archiving object HR_EIC does not consider any process-relevant data that was generated by an activity in EIC in the component HCM Processes and Forms. The archiving objects for HR Administrative Services are available for this process-relevant data.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

  • In the Switch Framework (transaction SWF5), you have activated the business function ILM (Information Lifecycle Management).

  • In Customizing for Personnel Administration, under Start of the navigation path Tools Next navigation step Data Privacy Next navigation step Data Destruction End of the navigation path, you have defined the rules for the retention of EIC activities based on the country grouping.
