Checks for Archiving Objects
The checks performed in the preprocessing or write phase of the destruction of data ensure that only data that meets the criteria for the destruction of data is destroyed.
In Customizing for Personnel Administration
, under , you have defined the retention rules that were agreed in your enterprise for the retention periods for personal master data.
The system performs the following checks for all archiving objects:
Check whether the data is completed from a business process perspective
Check whether the retention period that is valid for the data to be destroyed has been exceeded
The system performs special checks for some archiving objects. These are necessary if destruction logs need to be generated and the creation or editing of data needs to be locked in the destruction period. These checks are performed in the preprocessing phase of the destruction of data.
The system performs the following checks in particular for archiving objects with a preprocessing program:
Check whether there is already a destruction log in the infotype Archiving/Data Destruction
(0283), or whether a destruction log needs to be generated for the data that meets the criteria for the destruction of data
If there is a destruction log, the status is checked (Prepared for Data Destruction
or Destroyed
)
Check whether the period in which data has been destroyed needs to be blocked for the creation of data
Furthermore, specific checks are performed for individual archiving objects in the standard SAP system using implementations of the Business Add-In HRPA_B_CHK_DATA
. For more information, see the documentation for the archiving object under Archiving and Destruction of Data in Human Resources (HR).
