Run a Job from Within a Package

Run a job from within a package to import data from different source types. When you run the job from the package, the document types defined in the package apply. They replace the default document types set in the mapping job.

Prerequisites

Before you start, you must ensure the following prerequisites are met:

Context

The following source types are available:
  • CSV file

  • ACDOCA table

  • ACDOCU table

  • SAP ECC system

  • OData Custom Connection

An automatic filtering of source data is applied based on the consolidation unit of the package and the mapping rules defined in the mapping file.

You can filter the source by period, year, and version. You can retrieve this context if the source is ACDOCA, ACODCU, or ECC, and if you use the relevant keywords. For more information on keywords, see Create a Data Mapping Definition with an ACDOCA Table as Source, Create a Data Mapping Definition with an ACDOCU Table as Source, and Create a Data Mapping Definition with SAP ECC as Source.

Procedure

  1. In the Data Import section, select the job you want to run.
The section is empty if the job has never been run.
  2. Choose Start of the navigation pathRun Next navigation step Select Run OptionsEnd of the navigation path.
  3. From the Select Source File and Run Options dialog box, choose:
    • The network folder of your source file, if required.

    • The source instance of your mapping definition.

    • With Traceability Log. For more information on the traceability logs, see Traceability Logs.

    • Test Run. This option allows you to perform a test run, and check for errors in the import and traceability logs, without sending any data to the ACDOCU table. Once you have corrected the errors, you can run a complete job again to send the data.

  4. Choose Run.

Once the job has run, a notification alerts you that the job is complete. This activity is also displayed in the recent activities log. The status and some information, including the write document type for imported data, are updated under Overview, in the right pane of the package.

  5. You can choose:
    • Display Log to open the task log.

    • Display Job Run to open the details of the runs from the Run Data Mapping app.

Run information and different statuses are available. For more information, see Run, Mapping, and Import Statuses and Run Information.

  6. Choose Download Traceability Log to analyze mapping log and import log entries more deeply. For more information, see Traceability Logs.
  7. Choose Display Log to open the Task Logs app.
