Billing

Definition

The Billing function enables you to create bills for a loan, provided open items exist for the loan. The main borrower is the bill recipient in the standard system.

The actual printing of bills does not take place within the SAP system. Instead, Loans Management provides an external interface with the data that is necessary to create a bill.

The following conditions apply to bills:

You cannot change bills manually.

You cannot change a bill after it has been issued.

You can create bills for all loan products in the product category Installment Loans (360).

You can only create bills after debit positions have been generated.

For more information, see Update of Planned Records from Worklist und Post Planned Records from Worklist .

You can only generate bills using the report Create Bills.

For more information, see Create Bills

You can only use billing for loans that are posted to customer accounts and are based on the product category Installment Loans (360) .

Use

You use these functions to provide the borrower with the following information for a loan, for example:

Payments due for a payment period

Changes in the loan capital amount since the last bill

Charges and interest

Structure

Billing for installment loans has the following special features:

Future-Oriented Billing Logic

The system informs the borrower of future payables in advance.

Different Billing Categories

The system creates bills based on the billing category you have assigned to a loan, as follows:

Cycle billing

The system regularly creates a bill for a loan at a set point in a loan billing period, independent of whether or not the borrower has made payments on due open items. This means that in one billing period exactly one bill is created.

Coupon book

The borrower receives a coupon book from the bank either at disbursement of the loan or at regular time intervals. The borrower uses the coupons to pay due items for the loan

Bills for loans in the category Installment Loans are usually based on the billing category Cycle Billing. This implies the following:

Billing is based on a Billing Schedule.

The billing schedule is based on a Bill condition, which you have defined during loan processing.

For more information, see Editing an Installment Loan .

The bill recipient is automatically the payer of the receivables listed in the bill.
