Work Area The basic organizational unit in
Industrial Hygiene and Safety
.
Work areas can be defined from different perspectives. They can, for example, be defined in terms of processes, installations, task areas, or employee groups.
The data for a work area can be divided into header data and administration data. Based on this, you can enter dependent information such as:
The header data and administration data is explained in more detail below:
Work area (required entry field)
Contains the work area identification (ID). The ID can either be assigned by the user or by the system (from an internal number range interval).
Plant (required entry field)
The plant is included in the authorization check.
Cost center
Initial status (required entry field)
The initial status defines the starting point of the release process for a data record.
Entry language
With the entry language you specify in which language you are entering the data record. The SAP system requires this information for
EH&S Native Language Support
(EH&S NLS). EH&S NLS guarantees that data that is printed on
reports
is displayed correctly in all system languages. For more information on EH&S NLS, see
Set Up EH&S Native Language Support
in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for
Basic Data and Tools
.
Work area type (required entry field)
This classifies the work area within your enterprise, for example, as a company, a production system, or equipment.
Note
You define work area types under
Specify Work Area Types
in Customizing for
Industrial Hygiene and Safety
.
Coordinates
Coordinates help you to document the exact location of the work area.
Authorization group
(required entry field)
The
authorization group
is included in the authorization check.
For more information, seeSpecify Authorization Groups
in the IMG forIndustrial Hygiene and Safety
Validity area category and validity area
The validity area categories are specified in Customizing for
Basic Data and Tools
, the validity areas in Customizing for
Industrial Hygiene and Safety
under
Specify Validity Areas
.
Overall rating and received rating
If you choose the pushbutton with the quick info text
Match Up
in the
Rating
group box, you can determine the overall rating and the received rating for the work area in question.
The overall rating shows which total risk potential is present in a work area as a result of the agents present in the work area. The received rating shows which risk potential results from the work areas that lie one level below the work area in question in the
work area hierarchy
.
The functions for calculating the overall rating and the received rating are implemented as
Business Add-Ins (BAdIs). You can therefore enhance them without making modifications.
In the standard system, the BAdIs execute default code that evaluates the exposure profile of the work area in question and the overall ratings of the work areas one hierarchy level below it following “worst-case” logic. For more information on the BAdIs, see the IMG for
Industrial Hygiene and Safety
under:
BAdI: Calculation of Overall Rating
BAdI: Calculation of Received Rating
Higher-level work area
If you want to incorporate the work area into a
work area hierarchy
, assign a higher-level work area to the work area.
The
administration data
is automatically completed by the SAP system. It includes the following information:
The name of the person who created or changed the entry
The date when the entry was created or changed
The valid-from and valid-to dates
Change number
