Entry of Content ComponentsThis function is used to enter content components for document items.
Content components are part of the planning data in ad and online items. This is not the case for commercial, ad insert, distribution and service items.
Once you have entered the planning data for an item, the system generates sub-items, schedule lines and billing datasets when you confirm this data.

During generation of ad and online schedule lines, the system checks whether the content component can be created in the product master data and whether the booking unit can be produced or sold on the date specified.
Content components can be used to determine prices, contracts and sales agents for a document item.

If you change the content component in an ad or online item, the system generates new sub-items, schedule lines and billing datasets when you confirm the item data.

You have assigned content components to ad and online booking units in the sales and production view or the sales and positioning view in the product master data.

If you have selected this indicator, the content component specified categorizes the ad order and does not describe the position of the ad in the special publication. |
A distinction is made between business content components and technical content components during entry of document items.
Business and technical content components are determined from the sales and production view that is created as part of booking unit creation.
A business content component is entered to categorize advertising for pricing, sales agent or contract determination from a commercial perspective, such as
Financial ad
or
Cosmetics spot
.
A technical content component is entered to describe the positioning, such as an ad in the
Auto
trader
column or a banner in the
Sport
and
Markets
columns.
Content components are entered for a document item according to its item type.
An ad item has one business and one technical content component. An ad item can have a special publication. An online item has one business and at least one technical content component.
Ad inserts, distribution, commercial or service items can have a business content component but no technical content components.
The content component identification key is entered in the
Business content component
or
Technical
content
component
fields on the
Details
tab page at item level.
If you have entered a booking unit and a publication date for an ad item, or a booking unit and a publication period for an online item, the system displays the structural content component hierarchy that is valid on the date specified in the possible entries for the
BCont.Comp.
field.
If you select business content components from the hierarchy tree, you can ensure that you are selecting a content component that can be sold in the booking unit on the given date when you enter the planning data.
The system defines the technical content component from the business content component. You can change this default setting.
The distinction between business and technical content components can be used as follows in ad and online items:

The system displays all content components that are valid in the given sales area in the possible entries for the
BCont.Comp
field in ad insert, commercial or service items.
Special publications can be entered for ad items.
Special publications are content components and are therefore elements in content component hierarchies.
If you have entered a booking unit and a publication date for an ad item, the system displays the structural content component hierarchy that is valid on the date specified in the possible entries for the
BCont.Comp.
field. You can copy the special publication from the content component hierarchy into the
BCont.Comp.
field by double clicking on it.
The identification key for the special publication is displayed in the field that directly follows the
Business content component
field. The identification key for the special publication allows the system to identify those content components that are found in the ad section and in a special publication for the booking unit.
