Use

This function is used to create ad inserts.

Ad inserts are created once planning and booking have been performed for the ad insert items in the order entry process.

Ad inserts can be created on the basis of the media product master (media product ad insert) or independently (periodical ad insert).

Prerequisites

To create ad inserts for ad insert or distribution items.

An ad insert order is to be created for a 10ml shampoo sample that is inserted or a distribution order is to be created for a 20 page ad pre-print that weighs 200g.

To create ad inserts on the basis of the media product master, you must make all the settings required in the media product master, activate product synchronization and assign a material type to the AI categories.

Product synchronization is dependent on the material type.

You must define AI categories in Customizing if you intend to create ad inserts independently of the media product master.

Caution Caution

Number ranges for ad inserts and internal number ranges for the corresponding material types must not overlap if you intend to use media product master ad inserts and periodical ad inserts in parallel. The same applies if you switch to the media product ad insert during live processing.

Features

You can create any number of ad inserts in a sales document.

You can create an ad insert for an item, sub-item or schedule line in a sales document.

If you do so, this ad insert is assigned to the respective item, sub-item or schedule line.

If you create a second ad insert for the same item, sub-item or schedule line, you overwrite the existing assignment. This means that the first ad insert you created can still be assigned in the current sales document but has lost its original assignment.

If you create an ad insert and one has already been assigned at a lower document level, the existing assignment can be retained or overwritten.

You can only assign one ad insert to each item, sub-item or schedule line. You can assign alternate ad inserts to an ad insert or distribution item at sub-item and schedule line level:
