You can enter discrepancies in the following situations, for example:

  • There is a dangerous goods item you have not designated as such.

  • Packaging of an item is damaged.

  • You have received overdimensional or high-value cargo.

  • A different equipment type or package type has been used.

Prerequisites

You have defined discrepancy types in Customizing for Transportation Management. For more information, see Customizing under Start of the navigation path Freight Order Management Next navigation step Define Discrepancy Profile End of the navigation path.

Features

You enter a discrepancy by making entries including the following:

  • Discrepancy type

  • Discrepancy subcategory (optional)

  • Discrepancy date

  • Notes and attachments (optional)

Or you can enter a discrepancy by selecting the item and choosing Report Discrepancies. The system creates a discrepancy with the standard discrepancy type and discrepancy subcategory that you specified in Customizing.

You can enter more than one discrepancy for an item. The discrepancies are displayed in the discrepancy log of the item.

Activities

You enter discrepancies on the Discrepancies tab page of the respective business document item.
