Maintaining Metric Sets
You can maintain metric sets by editing them, releasing them, reassigning a workflow step, deleting them, or resetting them.
You are an Entry and Approval administrator assigned to a PAS model.
You have set defaults that specify which metrics are available for the metric sets.
You can do the following in the Entry and Approval main window to develop metric sets:

What You Need to Know |
|---|---|---|
Create a metric set |
Click Create Metric Sets. |
For more information, see Creating a Metric Set and Assigning Users to Workflow Steps. |
Edit a metric set |
In the Metric Sets table, click the metric set to edit. In the Edit Metric Set dialog box, click Back to Row Selections to go to edit mode. |
Use the Edit Metric Set dialog box to change the settings on saved metric sets. The metric set has the status of Not Released, or has been reset to Not Released. If a metric set is already released, you can reassign resources only. You can add or remove metrics from the same periodicity/dimension(s), but you cannot select a different periodicity/dimension(s) with a new set of metrics. Once a metric is included in a metric set, you cannot change that metric's periodicity or dimensionality in the underlying PAS model. Data is entered and stored according to the metric, and changing its configuration will cause a script error and failure of the data. If you want to change the periodicity or dimensionality, you have to create another metric set. |
Release a metric set |
In the My Metrics Sets table, click Release Now for each metric set you want to release. Or, click Release All. |
You can release one or all metric sets into the workflow process at the data entry step. A metric set can be released if it is new or if it has gone through a workflow process and its current period has been reset in Set Entry and Approval defaults and it is ready to be re-released, or the metric set has been reset to Not Released status. A metric set is dormant until it is released into the workflow process. Each user assigned to a data entry step receives an email notification if mail domain properties to alert users has been implemented by the strategy management administrator. For more information, see Setting Entry and Approval Defaults. |
Reassign a workflow step |
In the All Metric Sets table, click the metric set you want to edit. In the Resources section, assign a different user to a workflow step by selecting a name and clicking the right arrow. |
Once a metric set has been released, you can change the user previously associated with a workflow step. You can reassign any steps, no matter what stage the metric set is in the workflow process. You cannot assign new users to additional steps. |
Reset a metric set to move the metric set back to a former step |
Click Reset. |
You can reset a metric set back to a previous workflow step even after the step is completed, after the current period has changed, or after the PAS model has been loaded. You can reset all the way back to Not Released status. |
Delete a metric set |
In the All Metric Sets table, click the metric set you want to delete. In the Edit Metric Set dialog box, click Delete. |
The metric set is deleted even if it has been released into the workflow process. End of the caution. |
