Translating IMG StructuresLocate this document in the navigation structure

Definition

IMG stands for Implementation Guide. The IMG structure contains documentation and activity texts for the implementation guide, which is used to customize SAP software.

For more information, see Implementation Guide (IMG).

There are three object types for IMG structures:

SHI3: Hierarchy Node Texts
You use this object type to translate documentation texts in IMG structures.
SHI5: Extensions of a Hierarchy
You use this object type to translate your customer enhancements.
TLGS: Lockable Logical Objects (Short Texts)
You use this object type to translate activity texts in IMG structures. Three logical object types are relevant for IMG structures:
  • CUS0: Customizing IMG Activity
  • CUS1: Customizing Transactions
  • CUS2: Customizing Attributes
Procedure

You translate the various object types in the IMG structure in the same way as all other objects in transaction SE63.

  • Via a worklist .

For more information, see Translating Objects via a Worklist.

  • By calling up an individual object directly in transaction SE63.
    • The easiest way to call up hierarchy node texts, or extensions of a hierarchy, directly for translation is via the object type IDs SHI3 and SHI5.

For more information, see Accessing Objects via Object Type IDs.

    • The easiest way to call up logical object short texts directly for translation is via meta object type TLOG Lockable Logical Object (Meta).

If you want to translate a customizing IMG activity, enter CUS0 in the Object Type field and then use the input help function for the Object Name field to select the specific activity you want to translate.

If you want to translate a customizing transaction, enter CUS1 in the Object Type field and then use the input help function for the Object Name field to select the specific transaction you want to translate.

If you want to translate a customizing attribute, enter CUS2 in the Object Type field and then use the input help function for the Object Name field to select the specific attribute you want to translate.

For more information, see Accessing Objects via Meta Object Types.
