Processing DEMS Objects for Quality AssuranceLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The aim of processing DEMS objects for quality assurance is to check that the correct proposals exist for the source texts listed. For example:

  • Is this the correct translation for the source text?

  • Is the proposal created as the correct type of proposal?

  • Does the proposal have the most suitable quality status?

  • Do too many proposals exist for the source text?

If you find any incorrect translations in the proposal pool, wrong types of proposal, unsuitable quality statuses, or too many proposals you can make the required corrections.

Remember that deleting proposals can cause modified lines. Read DEMS Objects for Quality Assurance carefully before you begin.

Prerequisites
  • Read the documentation on the proposal pool and automatic distribution carefully, so that you are aware of the consequences of deleting proposals, changing proposals, and distributing an unsuitable translation, and the work involved in dealing with these consequences.

  • You need to know the technical names of the DEMS objects you want to process. If you have a number of DEMS objects and more than one translator available to process them for your target language, decide on the objects that each translator will process.

  • To minimize the number of modified lines caused by cleaning up the proposal pool via DEMS objects, you need to be able to create proposals with quality status A, to ensure maximum distribution potential after the cleanup. Your translator profile must therefore contain authorization object PPQ1 with value 04.

Procedure

There are four different ways of processing DEMS objects for quality assurance, all of which are described in the Related Information section below

After you have opened a DEMS object in the short text editor, you can branch to the proposal pool for a source text in the object and change existing proposals if necessary.

After you have finished processing a DEMS object:

  1. Choose Save Save.

  2. Choose Back (F3).

  3. Process the next DEMS object.
