Making Settings for Consolidation
You must make the following settings so that the system can perform a consolidation.
...
...
1. Create a rule and make all the required settings for the rule. For more information, see Creating Rules.
2. Specify a consolidation location for an inclusive rule in integrated rule maintenance. This consolidation location applies to all substitutions of this rule.
If you want to define a consolidation location for several rules, you define it for one rule of an inclusive rule strategy. The system uses this consolidation location for all subsequent inclusive rules from the rule strategy for which no consolidation location is defined and the Direct Delivery Without Consolidation indicator is not set. For more information, see Example for Consolidation with Rules in Rule Strategies.

Note that the system ignores the consolidation location for an inclusive rule in the following cases:
■ If the consolidation location is part of an exclusive rule in an inclusive rule strategy, the system removes the consolidation location from the substitution lists of the inclusive rules.
■ If the inclusive rule in which you have specified the consolidation location is part of an exclusive rule strategy, the system ignores the consolidation location.
3. Make sure that you have not set the Direct Delivery Without Consolidation indicator in integrated rule maintenance. If you set this indicator, consolidation does not take place for the substitutions of this rule.
4. Define transportation lanes between the source locations and the consolidation location.
For more information, see Stock Transfer with the Rules-Based ATP Check.
5. Make the settings for one of the following scheduling types:
○
Transportation and
Shipping Scheduling
○
Configurable Process
Scheduling
Define the duration between the source locations and the consolidation location.
6. Set Immediate Rule Evaluation Without Previous Check in the check instructions. This ensures that the system does not confirm the requirement from the sales order in a previous ATP check without being able to determine a consolidation location via a rule.

You do not have to make this setting if you transfer a consolidation location from SAP CRM to Global ATP.
For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for SAP SCM under Advanced Planning and Optimization → Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP) → General Settings → Maintain Check Instruction.
7. If you want a delivery date/time correlation in the consolidation location, you specify in integrated rule maintenance how you want the correlation to take place.
...
1. If you call Global ATP from SAP CRM, make sure that you have not set the Do Not Consolidate indicator.
2. If you want to transfer a consolidation location from SAP CRM to Global ATP, specify the consolidation location for a sales order item. This consolidation location is valid for all rules that the system determines for the sales order item and for which you have not set the Direct Delivery Without Consolidation indicator.

If you define a consolidation location in SAP CRM and in SAP SCM, only the consolidation location from SAP CRM is valid.
For more information about consolidation from SAP CRM, see SAP Library for SAP CRM under Components and Functions → Sales → Availability Check → Availability Check with SAP APO → Additional ATP Functions in Service Parts Management → Controlling the ATP Check in the Sales Order → Consolidation Location.
