Purpose

The IT process Monitoring Unbounded Processes enables you to monitor message processing - including throughput and performance – in all involved components. You can also monitor the business objects in your business applications.

Prerequisites

This process requires that message processing is functioning. You must also have defined the monitoring of your application systems in SAP Solution Manager.

In addition, you must first define and configure the integration processes that you want to monitor.

Process Flow

The process runs as follows:

       1.      Monitor messages (PI)

You use the Integration Engine monitoring or the Runtime Workbench to monitor the messages.

       2.      Monitor throughput and performance (PI)

You use the Runtime Workbench to monitor performance and message throughput.

       3.      Monitor end-to-end processes (PI)

You use the Runtime Workbench to monitor the processes in message processing from start to finish.

       4.      Monitor components (PI)

You use the Runtime Workbench to monitor the involved components.

       5.      Monitor business applications in Solution Manager

You use SAP Solution Manager to monitor the business objects of your business applications.

You can see the effects of message processing on your business objects.
