This work center is the central access point for all the information and functions you need to administer the SAP Solution Manager.

It comprises views in which you can set up and manage solutions, projects and systems, and execute user-specific functions. You can also perform common tasks that you need often in administration.

You are authorized for this work center.

Features

Overview

The overview categorizes solutions and projects by status.

Solutions

A list of solutions is provided which you can, for example, filter by solution type. The system displays active solutions by default. In the list, you can:

  • Create a new solution

  • Copy all existing solutions as templates

  • Activate or deactivate a solution

  • Delete a solution

    This function is only available for inactive solutions.

You can:

  • To access a solution in the Solution Directory, click on the name or ID of the solution in the list.

  • To call a list of service connections for a selected solution for which you can create a system connection to SAP, choose   Goto   Service Connection  .

  • To copy solutions between different systems by exporting and importing them, choose   Goto   Solution Transfer  .

  • Choose   Goto   Solution Data Settings   to specify which solution data the system should send to SAP, for example, the production data.

    The flag in the Send Data column in the list shows whether the system sends the data to SAP automatically.

  • Click the symbol in the Status column to go to the Self Diagnosis of the solution in SAP Solution Manager.

When you highlight a solution, the system displays details of this solution below the list.

  • The Systems tab shows the associated logical components and systems.

  • You can make settings for the following Solution Monitoring services in the Set-Up Operational Processing tab. Select the affected service and choose the service name:

    • EarlyWatch Alert.

    • Service Level Reporting

    • System Monitoring

    • System Administration

    • Business Process Monitoring

Projects

Projects are Listed. In the list, you can:

  • Create a new project

  • Copy an existing project as a template

  • Goto project management of the selected project

When you select a solution from the list, the system displays details of this project underneath the list:

  • Assigned logical components and systems

  • Assigned solutions

You can also perform Action Items in this view:

  • Compare and adjust projects

  • Call the template collector

  • Reset user settings

  • Update the search index for documents

  • Change the project template for various project types

Systems

A service map provides information and tools that you can use to set up the systems:

User

You can configure user-specific settings, for example, system user, business partner, and role.

Specfic Administration

A service map helps you to make various basic settings for:

  • System Monitoring

  • EarlyWatch Alert Configuration

  • Connectivity

  • IT performance analyses

  • Service Level Reporting

Typical Tasks

You can process incorrect RFC connections to the SAP Support Portal from all work center views.
