System overview

System architecture information list

Hyperlinks go to the system management in the system landscape.

You can make the following changes to the system landscape in this view of the work center:

  • Create system

Create System takes you to an assistant with which you can create a system in the Solution Manager system landscape.

  • Assign technical systems

You can assign technical systems to the existing main instances, explicitly, in the selected system. For further information, see Assign Technical System to a System.

System Details

  • Software Components tab

If you select a system, information about its installed product versions, and their main instances and software components, is in the Details area. Hyperlinks go to the appropriate System Landscape management level.

  • Clients tab

This overview of the clients in the selected system is only available for ABAP-based systems. You can set-up clients as managed systems in a system. When you select a client, you can go to a guided procedure with which you can create RFC connections between the clients and the system, and perform other configuration, with Configure Managed System. For more information about configuring managed systems, see SAP Solution Manager Basic Configuration Assistant.

  • Tools tab

There are various system installation tools, such as ABAP system client copy. You can edit the tool selection. See Managing Tool List for further information.

    Note Note

The client and RFC connection selection influences the selection of available tools for ABAP-based systems. You can check whether there are RFC connections for your system and client, in the RFC Information.

For further information, see Generate RFC Connections.

    End of the note.
Downtimes

You can schedule and carry out downtimes of systems, for example for maintenance, and record unexpected downtimes. For further information, see Manage Downtimes.

Transport Management

Transport management sets up a transport landscape. The system list contains transport domain and domain controller information. There are various tools to manage transports in systems. You can edit the tool selection. See Managing Tool List for further information.

Note Note

In ABAP-based systems, there are hyperlinks to the tools, if there are RFC connections to the selected system.

End of the note.
