Use

The business process monitoring monitors all business-process-specific processes. You can identify and solve problems at an early stage.

Integration

The business process monitoring passes statistical data records to the Service Level Reporting.

You can create Service Desk messages yourself, from the business process monitoring, or have them created automatically by the system. The system writes the Service Desk message status in the Business Process MONITORING session of the business step.

Prerequisites

You have:

      created a solution.

      implemented the ST-PI and ST-A/PI plug-ins in your satellite systems.

      installed OCX.

      implemented the ST-SER and ST-A/PI plug-ins in your SAP Solution Manager Systems.

      created the user CSMREG in the SAP Solution Manager transaction SU01. (note 455356)

      authorization. For further information, see the SAP Solution Manager Security Guide.

      set up RFC connections between the SAP Solution Manager and the satellite systems:

      a certification key. Cf. Note 521820

      configured the Service Desk and assigned the role SAP_SOL_SERVTRANS_CREATE to a user, for the integration with the Service Desk.

If you use the Service Level Reporting  function, you have set up SAP EarlyWatch Alert in the SAP Solution Manager.

You should have previously performed the SAP Solution Management Assessment Service (SMA) or a Technical Integration Check (TIC).

You can monitor the following functions:

      the performance of business processes according to specified key performance indicators (KPI)

      background jobs via the Program Scheduling Management

      Business application logs, e.g. error logs, general application logs, due list logs

      data consistency and data transfer at system component interfaces
