The dashboards for the Operations
category in the Dashboard Builder provide a quick overview of the availability and performance of your managed systems.
One such dashboard is the Performance Overview
, which displays the performance of managed systems during selected intervals in two tiles; you can thereby adjust both the reference period for the performance values and the systems whose performance is to be displayed according to your requirements. The Integration
section below tells you how to perform the configuration.
The data for this dashboard comes from System Monitoring reporting (see Technical Information about System & Application Monitoring Reporting ). The Dialog Response Time
event exists there at instance level and has the status Green
(OK), Yellow
(warning), or Red
(error), depending on the measured values of the corresponding metrics. For the tiles displayed, the number of these events for each status is determined for the selected system and the selected time interval and each status is assigned a percentage value.
Example
A value of 90 percent Green
for a system therefore means that for the period displayed, the Dialog Response Time
event has the status Green
for 90 percent of all measured values for the system instances.
You can display and change the metrics associated with the Dialog Response Time
in SAP Solution Manager Configuration
(transaction SOLMAN_SETUP). In the scenario , choose the Template Maintenance
step and choose the correct template for the technical instance, depending on the type of managed system. The event is located in Expert Mode
in the Metrics, Events, Alert Hierarchy
.
The following tiles exist in the dashboard:
System Performance Overview
, in which a mean value is calculated from the values mentioned above and, based on these mean values, a pie chart is output, which provides an impression of the average performance of your managed systems at a glance.
System Performance Details
, which displays the performance of the selected ABAP systems in a stacked bar chart. As a detail view, the tile contains the Smart View, with which you can analyze the data displayed in the tile in more detail, for example, perform a drilldown or set additional filters.
The dashboard is displayed in the Application Operations Dashboards in the Dashboard Builder.
The tiles delivered are to be regarded primarily as a template; use the tiles by selecting the systems and periods to be displayed. This takes place for the entire dashboard via a global filter (see Defining Global Filters). Proceed as follows:
In the top right-hand side of the screen, choose the Global Filter
pushbutton; the fields System ID
and Calendar Day
are displayed.
To set a global filter for these fields, choose the desired field and enter the desired filter values in the Filter Dimension
screen. Then choose Copy
.
The filter values are copied to the global filter and displayed there. All of the dashboard's tiles are updated accordingly.
