Use

The ability to create a transport package from a portal archive (EPA) makes possible the transport of business content by means of high-level UI-based portal utilitites.

Features

Besides the packaging of portal content, permissions and user personalization of the content can also be transported if desired.

Transport Permissions

Object permissions may be included with portal objects in export packages by editing package property values.

Permissions, assigned to portal objects in the PCD, are encapsulated in ACLs (Access Control Lists). The ACL, which is a list of principles, along with their respective permissions, is bound to a specific portal object.

Note

Although the management of principles and permissions is handled by the User Management Engine, the transport of permissions deals only with PCD objects; it does not with data located in UM.

Transport Personalization Data

It is possible to transport user personalization data by means of the personalization transport page, which is accessible from the Package Editor.
