 Mass Changes: Material Assignment Shift

Use

You can use this report to shift assignments of material objects and reportable item codes to force elements and positions of an organizational structure to an earlier or later time.

Caution Caution

When assignments are shifted, the system does not check the status or restart the approval process.

End of the caution.

Use this application for processing data inconsistencies only. This may be necessary, for example, if you have shifted an operational structure or exercise target and have to adjust the material assignments accordingly. See Report: Shifting Operational Structures/Exercise Targets .

Features

Depending on your selection, this report shifts either the overall assignments (that is, both the start and end of the validity period) or only the start or end date of the assignments by the number of days you specified.

The following selection and processing parameters are available in the Move Assignments application:

  • Generic Selection Parameters

  • Assignments

Specify which assignments you want to shift.

    • Usage Type

You specify the usage type of the assignments to be shifted.

  • Shift

    • Shifted Time Period

You specify the number of days by which you want to shift the current assignments. To shift assignments to a corresponding later time, enter a positive whole value (for example, 5 ). To shift assignments to a corresponding earlier time, enter a negative whole value (for example, ‑ 5 ).

      • Shift Validity Start Date

Specify whether the start date of the assignments is to be shifted.

      • Shift Validity End Date

Specify whether the end date of the assignments is to be shifted.

Note that selecting only one of the two options increases or decreases the assignment period.

    • Test Run

Specify whether you want to simulate the shift only (without data changes).

Assignments are shifted based on the following rules:

  • You can shift material assignments only within the object periods of the objects concerned.

    Note Note

You can also use the Business Add-In /ISDFPS/BADI_SHIFT_MAT_ CUST to define your own checks for the permissibility of shifts. For more information, see Customizing under Start of the navigation path Defense Forces& Public Security Next navigation step Organizational Flexibility Next navigation step Assignments Next navigation step BAdI: Shift Material Assignments End of the navigation path .

    End of the note.
  • The system adjusts the assignment periods to match the validity of the related object, that is, they are decreased or deleted.

The system displays these changes in a log for both simulation and update runs. Automatic adjustments are reported in warning messages.

You can also use the Business Add-In /ISDFPS/BADI_SHIFT_MAT_ CUST to define follow-up actions that are to be triggered after the shift.
