 Tabular Maintenance in iPPE

Use

In addition to the tab pages for editing data, there is a tabular display where you can create and edit objects and structures from the product structure.

Integration

  • Only objects from the product structure can be edited in the tabular display.

  • You cannot create materials or a focus in the tabular display.

Features

  • There are two ways of accessing the tabular display:

    • By choosing the Tabular Display function button

      or

    • By loading an existing object into the navigation area, right-clicking the object and selecting Tabular Display from the context menu.

In addition to the functions provided by the SAP List Viewer (ALV) Grid Control , the following functions are available:

  • Sort Hierarchically

  • Refresh

The data displayed in the table is refreshed.

  • Remove Objects from the Display

The selected object is removed from the tabular display. The object is still displayed in the navigation area.

  • Create iPPE Object

See also: Creating Product Structure Nodes in the Tabular Display .

  • Load iPPE Object

See also Loading Existing Objects into the Tabular Display .

  • Active/Inactive Quantity Calculation:

    • Active Quantity Calculation :

The system calculates the quantities for the explosion for a multi-level product structure. The system includes the references to phantom assemblies and side accesses. When the quantity calculation is active, you can call up the fields for maintaining the quantities by double-click.

    • Inactive Quantity Calculation :

The system displays the current quantity and the unit of measure. You can directly maintain quantities and units of measure.

      Note Note

You cannot deactivate the quantity calculation in the configuration simulation.

      End of the note.
  • Selecting the Class (Classification) :

    See also: Classification .

  • You can load all product structure node and variant types, focus structures and materials into the tabular display.

  • You can create and edit all node types, alternative types, and variant types from the product structure and the focus in the tabular display.

  • You cannot create a focus or materials in the tabular display.

You must use the loading area in iPPE Workbench Professional to create a focus. You can then use drag and drop to copy the focus into the tabular display. You can then create and edit focus objects there in the same way as product structure objects.

  • You can use drag drop to copy objects from the navigation area and the favorites into the tabular display.

  • Hierarchy Display

Objects that represent the header of a structure in the tabular display at the time of editing are displayed on the hierarchy level .1 . This is regardless of whether they are part of a larger structure.

All objects on hierarchy level .1 are highlighted in blue in the tabular display.

Unlike in the navigation area, variants can be displayed without nodes in the tabular display. In this case, the variant is also displayed as being on hierarchy level .1 .

Alternatives are not displayed with a hierarchy level; they are merely listed in the Alternative column.

  • Lock

Objects that the user has edited but not yet saved are displayed with an Locked by icon.

Objects that a different user is currently editing and has not yet released are displayed with an Locked by icon. These objects are locked and cannot be edited by other users.

The quick info for the Locked by icon shows which user is currently editing the object.

  • Errors when Editing

If errors occur when editing an object in the tabular display, the object is outlined in red and a list of messages is displayed in the upper area of the screen.

In the list, the Information icon indicates a change that has been made correctly.

The Error icon indicates a change that is incorrect. When you double-click a message text, you are taken to the object that has not been edited correctly in the lower area of the screen.

To undo all the changes that are indicated in the list by the Error icon, choose Undo Changes .

All correctly completed changes are not affected by this option and can be saved.
