Functions of the BEx Broadcaster
Use
Using the BEx Broadcaster you can precalculate and distribute Web templates, queries, query views, reports and workbooks. You can broadcast BI objects either as precalculated documents or online links (this is not possible for workbooks). Your distribution options include broadcasting by e-mail or broadcasting to the portal. Furthermore, you can print these BI objects in the required format.

This section explains the complete features of the BEx Broadcaster. The BEx Broadcaster is tailored to the requirements of information consumers and business experts.
You can find the functions that fall within the activities of system administrators but which can also be executed by business experts and are protected by additional authorizations under Broadcasting Functions.

BEx Broadcaster and Broadcasting Wizard
In the BEx Broadcaster, you can create new broadcast settings with both the broadcaster itself and with a wizard. The broadcasting wizard is an assistant that supports in creating a new setting by providing step-by-step instructions. Since the settings options are limited with the wizard in comparison to the broadcaster, you have the option of jumping from the wizard to the broadcaster to make further settings as necessary.
Precalculation and Distribution of Queries, Query Views, Web Templates and Reports
You can define broadcast settings for the precalculation and distribution of queries, query views, Web templates or reports. You can also define broadcast settings for the generation of online links for these objects and their distribution. Scheduling Broadcast Settings
If you do not want to execute defined broadcast settings immediately, you can schedule them. Distribution occurs at a time set by you. For more information, see Scheduling Broadcast Settings.
Information broadcasting is performed for individual BI objects (queries, query views, Web templates, reports or workbooks). The system cannot edit the settings of several BI objects simultaneously. However, you can precalculate several settings at the same time using the defined times for scheduling broadcasts.
