Tasks for System Administration 

Purpose

Various settings need to be made in system administration in order to use information broadcasting. Furthermore, there are a number of broadcast functions that can be made by business experts and in system administration.

Prerequisites

Ensure that you have administrator authorization for broadcasting. You need authorization object S_RS_ADMWB with the field RSADMWBOBJ = BR_SETTING.

The Broadcast E-Mail, Broadcast to the Portal and Broadcast to Printer distribution types are tailored to all users. For more information, see Functions of the BEx Broadcaster.

All other distribution types allow administrative tasks and therefore are only available to users with the appropriate authorization.

Process Flow

       1.      You set up information broadcasting for the users and make sure that the required functions are provided. For more information, see Providing Broadcasting Functions.

       2.      You use the broadcast functions that are set by business experts and in system administration, such as master-data-based broadcast by e-mail (bursting), broadcast in multiple formats or exception-specific broadcast. For more information, see Broadcasting Functions.

       3.      You monitor the operation and manage the broadcast settings, scheduling and objects (bookmark IDs and view IDs) that are produced during broadcasting. For more information, see Management and Monitoring.
