Enhanced Dependency Editor (Dependencies Tab) If you have made settings for the
Enhanced Dependency Editor
in
iPPE Customizing
in SAP APO, the system will show the
Dependencies
tab page in restriction maintenance. On the
Dependencies
tab page, you can maintain the object dependency for a restriction using the Enhanced Dependency Editor. The advantage of this
enhanced editor
is that the
class
and the
characteristics
with the
characteristic values
are all shown in the
Editor
. This makes it much easier to maintain the
dependencies
. In addition, you now have the option of using your own
customized syntax
or you can still use
SAP syntax
. The system automatically converts the object dependency created with
customer syntax
to
SAP syntax
after saving. You can now also process the object dependency of this restriction with SAP syntax. However, the system cannot convert SAP syntax to customer syntax. You must continue processing with SAP syntax.
You have made the necessary
Customizing Settings for the Enhanced Editor
and defined your own customized syntax. This is essential to make optimum use of the editor in the
Dependencies
tab page.
The following conditions must be met before the class with the characteristics and characteristic values are displayed when
creating a restriction
in the
Dependencies
tab page:
You have assigned model 000 to the line resource.
You have maintained the production version completely.
You referenced the same class when creating the product structure and the process structure you entered in the production version.
You have completed the assignment of the components to the activities and the assignment of the activities to the line elements.
In the
Start Date View
or in the vertical period view, you have defined the validity period, quantity, and weighting.
On the left-hand side of the tab page, the system displays the
Class
with the characteristics and characteristic values you use to define the dependencies. You can expand/collapse the class to show or hide the characteristics and the characteristic values. Using the
Settings
function key, you can define whether you only want the system to display the
Name
or whether you also want to display the
Description
for the class, the characteristics and the values.
The following rules are valid when displaying a class:
When
creating a restriction
, the system reads the production version. If you referenced the same class when creating the product and process structures you entered in the production version and if you have created characteristics for this class then the system displays this class in the
Dependencies
tab page.
If you have created the structures with reference to different classes, the system cannot then determine the class specifically. As the editor can only display one class, the system does not display any class in the
Dependency
tab page.
When changing a restriction , the system always displays the class of the characteristic for which you have created dependencies.
The editor is on the right-hand side of the tab page. In the standard system, the
customer syntax
you defined in Customizing for the Enhanced Dependency Editor is set. To make any entries in the editor, you have to select the selection indicator for the restriction. Now, you can either enter the dependencies manually using your customer syntax or automatically by directly clicking the characteristic value.
However, if the system cannot determine
any class
, you have to maintain the dependencies using
SAP syntax
. You switch to SAP syntax by choosing the (old) object dependency editor in your user settings. Now, you can enter the dependencies using the SAP syntax operators.
You can hide the
Object Dependencies
tab page and thus activate the (old) dependency editor. Then the system shows the corresponding function keys. See also:
Defining the Dependency Editor
It is possible to reshow the
Dependencies
tab page, if necessary. The dependencies you created in the old editor are now displayed in the
Dependencies
tab page. The system also displays the class with the characteristics and characteristic values you have used.
