In the ILM Retention Warehouse system, you can use the SAP NetWeaver component Audit Trail to display change logs. The evaluation of the changes takes place for each legacy system and audit package and contains the following information:

Change documents

The change documents are archived in the legacy system and copied to the RW system. It does not matter whether archving took place individually with archiving object CHANGEDOCU or together with the higher level application document.

Displaying archived change documents is an ILM-specific enhancement of the Audit Trails features.

Changes to tables and long text

The log of changes to tables and long text corresponds to the standard Audit Trail features.

Required (switch on logging)

The ILM function for processing audit packages offers a menu option that lets you call the Audit Trail function for evaluating change logs in an audit package (transaction S_AUT10)

Prerequisites

  • To display archived change documetns in the RW system, you need to have extracted the corresponding audit packages to the BW system. (The determination of archived change documents takes places during extraction of data to the BW system).

  • You have the authorization to call up Audit Trail evaluations.

    To log changes to tables and long text in the RW system, you have switched on logging in Customizing for Audit Trail.

  • You have called up the function for processing ILM audit packages and selected the Worklist you want to edit.

Procedure

  1. Select the audit package.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path BW Reporting Next navigation step Call Up Audit Trail End of the navigation path.

  3. Choose the tab page for changes you want to display.

    The system displays the Change Logs tab page (for the selection of change documents) by default. If you want to display tables or long text logs, select the appropriate tab page.

  4. Enter the selection criteria and start the evaluation and display of the change logs.

    As a result of the predefined settings when you call up the Audit Trail evaluation, the selection takes place for each legacy system and audit package.
