You can use the archiving object Collaboration Projects Archiving (CPROJECTS) to archive project data, project template data, checklist template data, and control plan template data.

Note Note

To display a complete overview of the relevant database tables, choose DB Tables in the Archive Administration application (transaction SARA).

You can use archiving object PLM CDOCS: Content (CDOCS_CONT) to archive documents assigned to projects.

To archive documents assigned to projects, you can use the archiving object CDOCS_CONT.

In an archiving session the report selects only objects with the status To Be Archived. In a productive archiving session the system sets the status Archived in the selected objects after the processing is successfully completed. It is not possible to archive the objects a second time.

To support the following Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) functions, this archiving object is assigned to ILM object CPROJECTS:

  • Snapshot

  • Data Destruction

Prerequisites

  • You are familiar with archiving object PLM CDOCS: Content (CDOCS_CONT). For more information, see Archiving Documents with CDOCS_CONT.

  • You are familiar with the functions for Data Archiving and Information Lifecycle Management.

  • To use the Information Lifecycle Management functions, you have to fulfill the following prerequisites:

    • You are familiar with the functions for ILM policies and rules and have defined the retention rules for the archiving object.

    • You have activated the relevant Information Lifecycle Management functions.

    Otherwise only the Data Archiving functions are available.

Procedure

  1. Familiarize yourself with the functions and attributes of this archiving object.

    • In the Archive Administration application (transaction SARA), choose Database Tables to show the tables from which the data of this archiving object is to be deleted.

    • For more information about technical attributes, see the Archiving Object Definition application (transaction AOBJ).

  2. Familiarize yourself with the characteristics of this archiving object.

  3. Create a write variant for the archiving object.
