Archiving Portfolio and Project Management Data
SAP supports your data management by providing suitable Data Archiving
(CA-ARC
) functions as well as SAP NetWeaver Information Lifecycle Management
(BC-ILM
) functions in the SAP Portfolio and Project Management
(SAP PPM) applications:
Data Archiving
Efficient data management involves you archiving data from completed business transactions. You can use data archiving to write data that is no longer required in the system, but is to be retained as evidence, for example, to an archive file. To reduce the load on the database, the archive file is stored in a file system or content repository and the data is deleted from the database.
Data Retention / Data Destruction
With ILM Retention Management
, SAP provides you with suitable tools for meeting the (statutory) requirements for the retention of data as well as for destruction of data on which there is no legal hold and whose retention period has expired.
These functions are available for the key entities of SAP PPM as well as dependent objects to support archiving of all relevant data of an SAP PPM object.
You have activated the business function Information Lifecycle Management
(ILM
