Template in Administration
You use a template as a basis for creating an object. You can create or use templates for the following objects:
Item (see Item Template Creation or Change)
Initiative (see Initiative Template Creation or Change )
Note
The item template or initiative template is created based on the item type or initiative type.
Document: The document template is created based on the object type. For more information, see Using Document Templates.
Project (see Creating a Project Template)
Checklist (see Creating a Project Template)
Note
You can base the creation of project template or a checklist template on a template category. You can choose a project or project template or a checklist or checklist template as the template. You can enter the number of the project or checklist or the template you want to use as a template in the Template
field. The system opens the template you specified. You can change the data of the template as required.
The initial status of an item template or initiative template is Created
.
To make a template available for creating objects, you must set the template status to Active
.
While creating a new item or initiative, all the templates will be shown to the user in a dropdown box for selection. A preview link is provided to see the overview of the template selected. The dropdown box shows all the item or initiative templates in the bucket and the global templates of that portfolio. You can specify a template as Global
to make the template available across all the buckets of the portfolio.
