Object documentationTemplate in Portfolio Management

Used as a basis for creating an object. You can create or use templates for the following objects:

  • Item

  • Initiative

  • Document

You create a template to use later on for creating a new object, such as item (Portfolio Item), initiative (Initiative), or document (Documents)

Structure

The template has the general attributes as provided in the delivered Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management under Start of the navigation path Portfolio Management Next navigation step Global Customizing Next navigation step Global Field Settings Next navigation step Check SAP Field Configuration End of the navigation path. The object type for the initiative template is IPT and for the item template it is PPT. The template attributes are copied to the item or initiative created from it.

The template has authorizations associated with it. The system copies access control lists (ACLs) maintained on the template object to the item or initiative created from it.

You can create or import documents and folders to use as templates. You can then copy them to the documents of the following objects:

  • Portfolio

  • Bucket

  • Review

  • Item

  • Initiative

  • Collection

  • Decision point

The document templates can be edited for all of the mentioned objects.
