 Notification Templates

Definition

A predefined text that you can reuse for objects, status actions, and status transition actions.

Use

You create, display, and change notification templates by choosing Notification Templates from the overview screen.

Note Note

To create and delete notification templates, you must be assigned to the roles SAP _CFX_NTF_TMPL_CREATOR and SAP _CFX_NTF_TMPL_DELETOR respectively.

A unique name and a subject are mandatory for a new notification template. After you create the template, it is not possible to change the template name. You can also add a note and set the Priority indicator if you want to send e-mails that are marked as high priority. After saving, you have the following further options:

  • You can choose the Authorization pushbutton to give authorization for the notification template to other users, user groups, or roles. The authorization concept for notification templates works as the authorization concept for user groups and status profiles. You can define access authorization to a notification template. Anyone with write authorization or higher can edit a notification template. A user must have at least read authorization to use a notification template. By selecting Notification Templates in the overview tree, you will see the list of notification template where you have at least read authorization.

  • You can restrict the use of a notification template to manual notifications, status actions, and status transition actions.

    You can see the actions that use the notification template by choosing Start of the navigation path Additional Functions Next navigation step Actions End of the navigation path . You can also see whether the notification template is used on the notification template overview screen in the Used column and on the notification detail screen in the Used indicator.

    Caution Caution

    You cannot delete notifications that have been used in a status action or for a status transition action .
