Use

You can use the Details dialog box to access all information, settings, and functions, for a folder, document, or link.

You can use an alternative Details dialog box in place of the standard Details dialog box. For more information, see Alternative Details Dialog Box .

Features

Structure

The Details dialog box is structured in modules similarly to the navigation iView:

A menu bar is displayed in the upper area of the Details dialog box.

Properties of the current resource are displayed in the left-hand screen area by default. The standard delivery contains renderers that display one or more properties.

Tip

Examples of the properties in the Details Dialog Box:

- Creation date and time for an object, and the name of the user who created it

- Average rating of an object by all users

The right-hand screen area displays an overview by default. This overview can contain more than one area, such as feedback, or personal notes. A JAVA class is stored in the configuration for each area (see Areas in the Standard Overview ). If the right-hand screen area contains another control, you can return to the overview by choosing View  → Overview.

Depending on the functions that you can launch using the commands in the menu bar, the right-hand screen area contains various controls. For example, the subscription control appears when you choose Actions → Edit Subscription. The display of the controls is controlled by a screenflow that is called up by the relevant command.

Configuration

You can configure the following:

  • You can control which group of commands is available in the menu. You can exchange the entire group (that is, the entire menu bar, but not an individual pulldown menu). To do this, use the Commands for the Details Menu (rndDetailsCommandGroup) parameter. You can define this parameter in a layout set . If you have not defined this parameter, the system uses the command group that is set in the default layout controller.
  • You can define which properties are displayed in the left-hand screen area, and change the sequence of the properties. For example, you can display a rating at the very top, and hide the file size. For more information, see Properties in the Details Dialog Box .
  • You can define which areas appear in the standard overview in the right-hand screen area. You can also change the sequence of the areas. For example, you can always display feedback at the very top, and hide public comments. For more information, see Overview in the Details Dialog Box .
  • You can configure separate Details dialog boxes for different resource types. When launching the Details dialog box, the system checks the resource type of the object. If there is a specific Details dialog box for the resource type, the system displays the associated Details dialog box. If the system cannot find a specific Details dialog box, it display the standard Details dialog box.
