Several internal repositories are used in the standard delivery. They are controlled by Knowledge Management. They are used for storing and staging various content and metadata and for navigating in this data. These repositories are preconfigured and preactivated in the standard delivery.
The following internal repository managers and repositories are used in Knowledge Management.
Note that by default, some repositories that contain system data are not displayed in the main directory.
Pay attention to the information in Before You Start: Important Information . Never change the persistence mode of an internal repository.

The following CM repositories are contained in the standard delivery:
For the SAP NetWeaver Information Broadcasting scenario, the CM /BIuserhome repository is used to manage user-specific BI data.
Light CM repository manager is a lightweight CM repository that offers a subset of the CM repository functionality with improved performance.
Provides access to taxonomies used for document classification.
Navigation in a taxonomy repository features special functions (such as creating ad-hoc links to documents associated with a given category in a taxonomy). The taxonomy repository manager is not a fully-fledged repository manager, since it does not actually store classification data persistently. The CM /taxdata repository is used for this.
The /taxonomies repository is part of the standard delivery.
Provides read-only access to resources that represent users.
The /um repository is used for this in the standard delivery.
Provides access to administration data and content distributed using the content exchange service.
The /ice repository is used for this in the standard delivery.
Allows the use of short IDs for access to objects
The /guid repository is used for this in the standard delivery.
Used to search for objects (portal pages and iViews) in the Portal Content Directory (PCD)
The /pcd repository is used for this in the standard delivery.
Offers access to report-specific data.
The /reporting repository is used for this in the standard delivery.
Provides a virtual main directory that gives you access to all repositories defined in KM.
The /vroot repository is used for this in the standard delivery. However, it does not appear in the main directory itself. Rather, it is the technical prerequisite for displaying the main directory.
Generates and manages entry-point-specific data.
The /entrypoints repository is used for this in the standard delivery.
Uses plug-ins to generate thumbnails of documents.
The /thumbnail repository is used for this in the standard delivery.
Uses transports to enable read and write access to meetings and appointments that are stored on Groupware servers.
This repository manager is used by Collaboration.
