Prerequisites

  • You have the necessary portal permissions to create content in the portal.

  • You have the necessary portal permissions to use the URL iView template.

  • Although the wizard does provide a browser that enables you to navigate and choose the source URL of the appropriate Web page, it is recommended you first familiarize yourself with the Web site and its content using your Web browser.

Context

You use the URL iView Wizard to create URL iViews in the portal.

The wizard enables you to define the following:

  • Basic properties of the iView, such iView name, ID, and namespace

  • The URL from which the iView retrieves its content.

  • The content to display in the iView. You can choose to display the entire Web page of the source URL or a selected area within it.

Once you have created the iView, you can edit it in the URL iView Editor. In the editor, you can modify the basic settings previously defined in the wizard, and also define more advanced settings, such as parameters in the URL and the look and feel of the iView content. See URL iView Editor .

Note

To configure additional settings, such as parameters in the URL and the look and feel of the iView content, and modify the settings you defined in the wizard, edit the iView in the URL iView Editor (see URL iView Editor ).

If needed, you may edit additional iView properties that are not related to the URL, such as iView height and tray properties, in the Editing Object Properties . See also URL iView Properties .
