The usage counter shows you how often a proposal in the proposal pool has been used as a translation in the objects that currently need to be translated in the system. This information can help translators when performing proposal pool maintenance as it allows them to make an informed decision on whether to delete a proposal or not. If a translator deletes a proposal that is used many times in the system, then this will produce a large number of modified lines.
Translators should check with the translation coordinator when the usage counter was last updated before using the figure shown by the usage counter as the basis for deleting proposals from the proposal pool.
Displaying Usage Counters
If you display additional information for a proposal, a dialog box appears in which the usage counter is displayed. See Displaying Details for a Proposal .
The number of source texts for which a specific proposal has been used as the translation indicates how many modified lines would be generated if you were to delete or change the proposal. For more information about the status modified , see Translation Status .
The usage counter is five digits long. If a proposal has been used more than 99,999 times, the system displays 99999 as the usage counter.
