Procedure documentation Creating and Deleting Structure Gaps  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You want to create or delete a structure gap in the actual configuration of a technical object to indicate a missing part or to remove superfluous placeholders for missing parts.

Prerequisite

You have loaded the actual configuration of a technical object in the configuration control workbench.

You have the necessary authorization for manually processing structure gaps.

Creating Structure Gaps

...

       1.      Select the actual configuration of the object, under which you want to create a structure gap, in the tree structure.

       2.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Create Structure Gap from the menu of the navigation area. You can either create a structure gap for a piece of equipment, or for an equipment BOM item.

The Details for Structure Gaps screen area is displayed.

       3.      If you have maintained a master parts list for the object concerned, enter a function identifier in the Details for Structure Gap screen area to link the structure gap with an iPPE structure node.

       4.      Save your entries.

Note

It is not possible to create a structure gap underneath an existing structure gap.

Deleting Structure Gaps

...

       1.      Select the structure gap that you want to delete in the tree structure of the actual configuration.

       2.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Display.

The Details for Structure Gaps screen area is displayed.

       3.      To delete the structure gap, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Delete and confirm the message in the following popup.

       4.      Save your entries.

The structure gap is deleted and no longer visible in the tree structure of the actual configuration.
