Function documentationApplications of SAP Supply Chain Info Center

You can use the following applications to monitor and analyze the planning objects in Demand Planning (DP) and Supply Network Planning (SNP) that you are responsible for:

  • Supply Projection

This application helps you evaluate a supply plan created in SAP APO and identify bottlenecks in the supply chain. Using supply-related KPIs, the application analyzes the projected service level or supply shortage for your products.

For more information, see Supply Projection, Stock Coverage, and Forecast Accuracy.

  • Stock Coverage

This application provides you with an overview of your inventory, helping you find the right balance between the projected service level and the inventory. The application uses value, quantity, or days of supply based KPIs to analyze inventory development in a selected period of time, and allows you to respond to inventory shortfalls or surplus and identify target and safety stock deviations.

For more information, see Supply Projection, Stock Coverage, and Forecast Accuracy.

  • Forecast Accuracy

This application informs you about the quality and reliability of forecasts that were created for a selection in the past, helping you create your own forecasts for the same selection. The application provides you with details of forecast-related key performance indicators (KPIs), and the way these KPIs changed during a selected period of time.

For more information, see Supply Projection, Stock Coverage, and Forecast Accuracy.

  • Capacity Analysis

This application provides you with an overview of the capacity load across the supply chain and the products consuming that capacity. Using resource-related KPIs, the application analyzes capacity patterns between resources, simulates planned resource overtimes, and displays visual alerts when critical load situations arise.

For more information, see Capacity Analysis.

The SAP Supply Chain Info Center also comes with an application where you, as a system administrator, can set up your own KPIs. For more information, see Setting Up Custom Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Note Note

The number of decimal places that the system uses to display the data for quantities in the analytic applications is fixed, and standard Customizing for the number of decimal places displayed is not taken into consideration.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

You can work with the analytic applications of SAP Supply Chain Info Center if the following applies:

  • You have read and write access to the database table sap.hba.apps.apoan.db::APOAN_UI_PERSONALIZATION in the database schema SAP_HBA. This database table is generated when you import the delivery unit for the application.

    Note Note

For more information about the necessary authorizations, see the Administrator’s Guide for SAP HANA Live for SAP Business Suite on the SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com/hbaInformation published on SAP site, under Master, Installation, Security, Configuration, and Operations Information.

    End of the note.

For more information, see section Authorization for SAP HANA Analytics for SAP SCM (SAP Supply Chain Info Center) of the Administrator’s Guide for SAP HANA Live for SAP Business Suite on the SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com/hbaInformation published on SAP site.

  • You have imported the analytic application and virtual data model content to the SAP HANA studio, and replicated the necessary master data and planning data from your SAP APO system to SAP HANA.

  • If you want to set up your own KPIs, you must have created the views necessary to calculate data for them in the SAP HANA studio, and set up the KPIs to be used in SAP Supply Chain Info Center. For more information, see Setting Up Custom Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Features

The analytic applications follow a similar screen logic, which means that you use them working through a similar process. Depending on your business needs, you can specify different planning objects, and work with them in the different applications as follows:

Accessing the Applications

You can access the applications by entering a URL in a Web browser, or from SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC). For more information, see Accessing the Applications.

Navigation

You have the following navigation options in the SAP Supply Chain Info Center:
