Capacity Analysis
The Capacity Analysis
application is composed of the following screens:
Overview
The top area of the OVERVIEW
screen provides you with a high-level view of the planning objects that are included in the planning book, data view, planning version combination that you specify in the GENERAL SETTINGS
screen area. Based on the key performance indicator (KPI) that you select in the OVERVIEW SETTINGS
screen area for value calculation, the table displays the consumption of resource capacity for the product and time bucket you select. Based on another KPI you select for background color evaluation, the system also compares capacity consumption with the available capacity of each resource, and uses various background colors to alert you of problematic situations.
The bottom area of the OVERVIEW
screen provides you with information regarding the available capacity and capacity consumption of a selected item, and the way these values changed over the selected time period. Click the beginning of a row in the top table to display the relevant details in the bottom chart. For example, you can view the capacity consumption of production resources by SNP and PP/DS orders.
For more information, see Separating Capacity Consumption Values by Order Type.
Product Drill-Down View
The PRODUCT DRILL-DOWN VIEW
screen allows you to drill down into your planning objects and investigate the planning situation on a deeper level. You use the Product Drill-Down Sequence
to specify the order in which you want to drill down to your planning objects.
For more information, see Using Drill Down in Capacity Analysis.
You can make the following settings in the Capacity Analysis
application:
You must specify the following settings in the GENERAL SETTINGS
screen area:
Planning book
Data view
Planning version
Note
In the Planning Book
, Data View
and Planning Version
fields, you can only select the planning book, data view, planning version combinations that you have replicated from SAP APO to SAP HANA. For more information, see Replication of Planning Data.
Time horizon you want the system to calculate KPIs for
Display mode for planning objects
You can define whether you want to display planning objects in the various charts of the applications by name or by description.
In the OVERVIEW SETTINGS
screen area, you must specify the following:
The attributes based on which you want to drill down on the OVERVIEW
screen of the Capacity Analysis
application.
The KPIs for value calculation and for background color evaluation.
The source of values for available resource capacity. If you select the Normal Available Capacity
option, you must also define the simulation percentage by which the system multiplies the values of available capacity defined in the Resource
application on the SAP Easy Access
screen, under . You can also choose to use the values of maximum available capacity to define the available capacity of a resource in SAP Supply Chain Info Center.
The display settings for the OVERVIEW
screen of the Capacity Analysis
application.
In the PRODUCT DRILL-DOWN SETTINGS
screen area, you must specify the attributes based on which you want to drill down on the PRODUCT DRILL-DOWN
screen.
For more information, see Using Drill Down in Capacity Analysis.
You must also use this screen area to define the number of items you want the system to display in the column chart. If you select Show Remaining Items
above the chart, the system also displays the other items related to the selected resource, but they are represented only by one color in the chart.
You can change selection items after clicking the Edit Selection Items
button, and change the order of the selection items using the drag-and-drop technique.
To be able to use the Capacity Analysis
application, you must define the following semantic key figures when setting up your replication model:
Available capacity
Total capacity consumption
Total production
You can specify these semantic key figures in either of the following transactions:
Replication Model Maintenance
(Recommended when using SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP Supply Chain Management 7.0, Support Package 07, or higher)
Replication Model Maintenance (Maintenance View)
You can access the transactions on the SAP Easy Access
screen, under .
