Handling of Times with Transportation Planning in ERP
During transportation planning in SAP ERP (component, LE-TRA
) with integration to SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM), the SAP ERP shipment is distributed to both SAP EWM and a transportation unit (TU), and a shipping and receiving activity is automatically created. As of SAP EWM for release 9.1, you can obtain more accurate planned times through the improved handling for the setting of planned arrival and departure times for TU activities. This is especially significant if assigned deliveries have a supply chain management route with a route schedule, where times from the route schedule will be used to determine the planned dates in case no completion or check-in time is set in the SAP ERP shipment.
The following table displays sample data with a brief explanation of the underlying logic of how new times are determined in SAP EWM.
Delivery: Earliest Out-of Yard | Delivery: Route Schedule | ERP (LE-TRA): Shipment Completion | ERP (LE-TRA): Check-In | TU Profile: In yard | Result

You can influence the determination of the times by implementing the Business Add-In (BAdI) Settings for Planned Times of TU in Background Processes
(/SCWM/EX_SR_TU_TIMES
). If you choose to remain with the existing behavior as in the lower releases, a BAdI implementation is required because the default sets the times according to the new logic.
In addition to the new determination of TU activity planned times during integration with LE-TRA
, the TU status for planned times fixed is set if:
Routes with route departure schedules are assigned to the TU and in case you have set up a TU profile
Shipment completion time is set in the SAP ERP shipment and you have set up a TU profile
Shipment completion and check-in time is set in the SAP ERP shipment
For more information about TU profiles, see TU Profile.
