You can use the transportation unit (TU) profile to improve time scheduling for your TUs. The TU profile contains information about in yard duration, door block duration, and staging area block duration. This information can be used, for example, in the following ways:

  • In the Shipping Cockpit — Planning the system calculates the planned arrival time from the planned departure time and the in-yard duration.

  • In the Shipping Cockpit — Planning and in automatic staging area planning, the system uses the staging area block duration to determine the time for which a TU blocks a staging area or staging bay.

  • In integration with SAP Dock Appointment Scheduling, the system communicates the door block duration or staging area block duration to SAP Dock Appointment Scheduling to enable appointment scheduling.

  • In integration with SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) or with LE-TRA, the system uses the in-yard duration to determine a planned arrival time for TUs if no planned times are provided by SAP ERP or SAP TM.
