Defining a Party 
You use this procedure to represent a company in a B2B communication that involves interaction between two or more companies. A party groups the systems that are exposed by a company to its external partners. While naming a party, you use an internal name to represent the company. You map this name to a unique globally-recognized identifier that identifies the company in a B2B communication, for example, a D&B D-U-N-S number issued by the agency Duns & Bradstreet. So, when the company communicates with an external business partner, its internal party name gets transformed to the globally-recognized identifier.
In the main menu, select .
In the New Party dialog, enter a name and description for the party.
Choose Finish.
In the Party Editor, under Identifiers section, perform the following steps:
Choose Add to enter a new row.
Under Agency column, select an agency from a list of available agencies, to identify the party with a globally valid ID.
Note
If you want to add a new Agency-Scheme pair then, choose Define... and in the Agency Definition page, enter the values for agency and scheme. Now, you can see the new agency in the Agency column and you can select it.
Under Name column, enter a name or number compliant to the selected Agency.
Save the changes.
In the PI Explorer, expand the Systems group and select the new party.
Right-click on the party and choose New Business Component or Import Business System to add systems under this party.
