Procedure documentationDefining a Business Component Locate this document in the navigation structure

You define a business component to use it as an abstract communication unit that can function as a sender or receivers of messages. A business component is used when the details of a technical system is not exposed. Instead, you can group the interfaces that are publicly available under a business component.

Using this procedure you can create and configure business components in the Integration Directory.

Procedure

  1. In the main menu, choose   File   New   Business Component  .

  2. In the New Business Component dialog, enter the details for the business component.

  3. Browse for a party to assign to the business component.

  4. Choose Finish.

  5. In the Business Component editor, enter the description and details about adapter-specific identifier.

  6. Add users and interfaces to be used by the business component.

    Note Note

By default, any authorized user can send messages in the integration flow from the sender system. On adding users, you are specifying that only the added users can send messages from the sender system and thus, restricting other users.

    End of the note.
  7. If the communication component represents a BPM process, which means the communication component is used to send messages to BPM, then select the Integration Centric Process option that allows monitoring of message exchange between PI and BPM.

    Note Note

With Process Orchestration, it is possible for SAP NetWeaver BPM and SAP NetWeaver PI to send reliable messages to each other. You can navigate from PI Message Monitor to BPM Log Viewer (used to monitor process) to find details of business processes associated with a PI message. Similarly, you can navigate from BPM Log Viewer to PI Message Monitor to find details of PI Messages associated with a business processes.

The navigation is possible when you mark the communication component as Integration Centric Process. The communication channel gets pre-filled with SOAP adapter and XI 3.0 message protocol.

For more information on how to monitor message processing across PI and BPM, see  http://help.sap.com/nw731   Application Help   Function-Oriented View   Monitoring Messages across PI and BPM  .

    End of the note.
  8. Choose Save.

Note Note

  • When you create, save, or delete a business component, you are not required to activate the changes. The actions on a business component are activated automatically.

  • You can view the list of business components in   Process Integration   View   Business Component  .

End of the note.
