Function documentation Conversion of Planned Orders from SAP APO  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

It makes sense to convert planned orders from SAP APO if you want to copy the detailed dates from Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) to the R/3 manufacturing order.

Prerequisites

·        In SAP APO, the conversion indicator must be set.

·        The production version used in SAP APO must still be valid in SAP R/3.

Caution

If the production version used in SAP APO is not longer valid or is locked in SAP R/3 when the conversion takes place, the system terminate the transfer the of the planned order and issues an error message.

You can use the information contained in the SAP Note 491651 ‑ APO->R/3: Production version w/ conversion of Planned Order to setup the SAP Enhancement CIFORD03 (Exit EXIT_SAPLCORD_005) so that when planned order conversion is carried out, SAP R/3 ignores the production version used in SAP APO and always uses the current valid production version from SAP R/3.

See Prerequisites for the Production Process

Activities

The planned order is transferred from SAP APO to SAP R/3 with a conversion indicator. The following situations are possible:

·        Planned order already exists in SAP R/3

See Conversion from SAP APO with R/3 Planned Order.

·        Planned order does not exist in SAP R/3

In this case, SAP R/3 creates a new manufacturing order. First, the system determines the order type and order category.

See Conversion from SAP APO Without R/3 Planned Order.

·        Conversion with forced BOM explosion

You should note that it is only possible to trigger a new BOM explosion on conversion of planned orders by using a SAP enhancement.

See Conversion from SAP APO with Forced BOM Explosion.
