Use

The following section describes the steps that you need to perform to develop and integrate custom modules into workspaces.

Procedure
Creating a Custom Application
  1. Develop a regular portal application.

  2. Deploy your application to the development or testing environment.

  3. Create an iView from this application.

  4. If required, define permissions for this iView.

Creating and Configuring a Module Template

For detailed information, see Creating a Module Template.

Testing the Module Template

Check that the module template is available in the workspaces.

  1. Log on as an end user with permissions to create workspaces.

  2. Open your personal workspace or a shared workspace in which you are a manager, choose Add Content and verify that your module template appears in the module gallery.

  3. Add the module to the workspace page, as described in Adding Modules to a Workspace.

  4. Verify that the application works as expected.

Using the Module Template in a Production Environment
  1. Transport the iView to the production system using the portal transport tools.

  2. Create and configure a module template from the iView, as described above.

  3. Add the module to a workspace page, as described above.
