Content Creation
The workspace content is made up of modules.
Module
A content item, such as an iView or page, which runs in a workspace page. In addition to the functionality of an iView or page, a module can also respond to workspace events. You create a module from a module template.
Module template
A template from which actual modules can be created in workspaces. In addition to the set of out-of-the-box module templates, provided by enterprise workspaces, you can create custom module templates from existing iViews, pages or custom portal applications.
The following figure illustrates the different stages of the content creation workflow. Each stage of this workflow involves different roles working on different objects.

Developers create custom portal applications, using the Enterprise Workspaces API, and deploy them to the portal. This step is optional.
Workspace administrators create module templates based on existing iViews, pages, or custom portal applications, as described in Creating a Module Template.
The custom module templates become available for use in workspaces.
Workspace managers or owners add out-of-the-box or custom modules to the workspace pages, as described in Adding Modules to a Workspace.
Workspace managers or owners configure the module runtime settings, if applicable.
This optional step is described in Configuring Module Settings.
Workspace members navigate to the pages and work with the modules.
