Managing the Navigation Structure of an Area
After you have created an area, you can create new content or reuse existing content to create the navigation structure of the area. You can also rearrange the content in the area
Create new content. In the navigation panel, select the area and, from the New menu, choose one of the following:
Area — Creates a new area within the existing area. You can create new pages and areas within this area.
Page — Creates a new page.
For more information about creating pages, see Creating Pages.
Reuse existing content.
Import portal content. In the navigation panel, from the New menu, choose Imported Page.
For more information, see Importing Portal Pages.
Copy objects into the area. Select the object that you want to copy and, from the Actions menu, choose Copy. Select the area into which you want to copy the object and choose Paste.
The object is added as the last object in the area.
Create a link to existing Web Page Composer content.
In the navigation panel, select a page or an area and from the Actions menu, choose Copy as Link.
Select the area in which you want to create the link and from the Actions menu, choose Paste Link.
Any changes made to the source object are reflected in the area containing the link.
For more information, see Creating Links to Areas and Pages.
Reorder the structure.
The order in which content appears in the area in the Content Editor is the same order in which it appears at runtime. There can, however, be differences between the structure of an area and its runtime representation. This depends on how permissions are set for specific objects, or if a page is defined as the default entry of an area.
To move a node, select the object and, from the Actions menu, choose Move Up/Move Down.
To remove a node from the navigation structure, from the Actions menu, choose Delete.
If the object that you are deleting has already been published, the object remains in the navigation structure and appears inactive until you publish the parent area of the object. To restore a deleted object before the parent object has been published, choose .
To move objects in and out of areas within another area, use the Copy and Paste options in the Actions menu.
Republish the area to view the changes at runtime.
