Procedure documentationCreating Links to Areas and Pages Locate this document in the navigation structure

You create shortcuts to pages and areas and paste them into areas.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation area, choose the object for which you want to create a shortcut and from the Actions menu, choose Copy as Link.

The link is copied to the clipboard.

  2. Select the area into which you want to paste the shortcut and from the Actions menu, choose Paste Link.

A link object is created in the area. The title of the link object is taken from the title of the source object.

Note Note

  • You cannot make changes to the contents of the link object. The shortcut reflects changes that you make to the source object.

  • If you delete the source object, the icon of the link object changes to source object missing (source object missing) and the node will not be visible to users viewing published content. You must remove the object manually.

  • If you publish a link object before the source object has been published, users see the content only after the source object has been published.

  • At runtime, only portal users with the correct permissions will be able to see the contents of the link object.

  • If the source object is moved, the status of the link object changes to Source Object Moved, and you cannot publish the object.

When the source object is published again, the link object is published automatically.

End of the note.
